    Genos EI Insights

To better understand my inner potentials and talents, I picked the psychometric exam, which I will illustrate in this reflective report. I underwent Genos Survey to adequately determine my emotional intelligence characteristics. The personality exam, the emotional test, and the mechanical test are the three tests that I conducted. These tests have given me enough information about my abilities in these three areas. The following reflective report will highlight the aspects of emotional intelligence that I found by completing the Genos Survey.

Discussion of the theoretical foundation of Emotional Intelligence and its relevance to effective leadership

The EI's conceptual framework argues that a human produces a planned internal outcome with a certain standard inside a given environmental setting, which is related to the individual's knowledge and training, as well as his or her background (Rezvaniet al., 2016). The goal of this standard procedure is to transform the experts' standard measurements into points. When a person takes an EI exam, he or she provides the score scale ratings. Emotional understanding enumerates healthy relationships and being aware of one's feelings as well as others' feelings which lays a foundation for better decision making. The emotionally competent individual makes an effective leader who is well adapted to the concept of knowing the difference between real emotions and mimicked emotions (Issah, 2018).

Effectiveness in leadership is considered for motivating their employees and coworkers and can incentivize and encourage them to find their reasons for working to their full potential (Miao et al., 2016). A leader's capacity to communicate and interact with others is hampered by a lack of emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is widely recognized as an important aspect of good leadership. The skill to be insightfully aware of yourself and personal emotions, but also sound good judgment, can be a valuable tool for leading a team (Ingram et al., 2019).Leadership abilities include not only personality traits, but also problem-solving abilities, judgment, and emotional strength (Genos International, 2022). That is why I considered taking up the Genos Survey and the findings have enabled me to understand what my core competencies are and how they may help me be a better leader.

Understanding the Conceptual Framework of Emotional Intelligence

A person with a high level of emotional intelligence (EI) can comprehend and relate to others. This ability is currently thought to have a higher influence on individual and group performance than standard intelligence tests like IQ (Elfenbein&MacCann, 2017). Employee cooperation, motivation, productivity, and earnings all enhance when emotional intelligence is present. Emotional intelligence, on the other hand, is weak in many companies (Rezvaniet al., 2016).

    Interpretation of Own Results

According to the Genos emotional intelligence survey, I took was an emotional test, which looked at six components of my emotional emotions: self-awareness, awareness of others, authenticity, emotional reasoning, self-management as well as a positive attitude (Genos International, 2022). I received a 28 on the self-awareness scale, which specifies that it needs more attention. The second factor is awareness of others, which has a score of 26,indicating that I need to focus more on this part of my emotional development. The third factor, authenticity, also has a score of 26, indicating that it is still developing. The next factor of emotional reasoning again scored 26 signifying a development requirement in this aspect as well. Finally, the self-management feature receives a 28, indicating that it is a priority strength. In the end, positive influence at 28, which indicates that is the most important component of my emotional lifeis responsible for strengthening my skills.

    Initial reaction to the Result

The results of the test revealed that I am quite self-assured. This understanding has shown me that I have a high level of self-awareness, which I can use in my career. One of the needed qualities of becoming a great leader is confidence, which suggests the ability to succeed that can be relatively attributed to the positive influence (Miao et al., 2016). Now that I know my degree of confidence, I can be confident that I have a good probability of succeeding. In terms of the emotional aspects, my motivational and empathetic skills are my strongest assets. The ability to motivate others will allow me to not only be focused and committed to my profession but also to motivate others to be leaders (Lee et al., 2018). The ability to empathize with others will aid in understanding others, which will aid in making sound decisions improvising the qualities of good leadership.

Illustrating an example, my self-management attribute scored well that even assisted me at the workplace portraying me as an effective leader when I thoroughly collaborated with my team members assisting them in completing a deadline project on time. Work-life balance was maintained throughout the project work without any constraints or workload resulting in good self-management. Secondly, in past, one of my decision-making went wrong in a case when I excluded a team member from a project work without understanding his concerns regarding his personal life that he would have never considered it in his way of completing the project. The lack of my emotional reasoning aspect impacted wrongly on this matter as I excluded an organizational asset from work for a while due to a misunderstanding.

Continuing to develop Emotional Intelligence to enhance workplace productivity

Considering my Genos survey score, I will incorporate self-reflective practices in my workplace organization to enhance my emotional intelligence skills for becoming an effective leader. However, my test scores are not that negative but facilitating better workplace conditions is one of my goals for the organization that can be done by boosting the lacking aspects of mine.

    Conclusion

The emotional survey revealed that I lack emotion regulation and skills, both of which need to be enhanced, while my self-awareness is moderate and needs to be focused on efficiency. I received a high score on the positive influence, indicating that I have a strong potential for learning and applying it to work-related challenges. Again, the ability to solve difficulties is a necessary trait of leadership.
